Website stats: how many people visit

Daily visits, top pages and where visitors came from, for websites we host. No cookie banner needed.

What you see

With Website stats, each brand's Website tab shows a Visits card:

  • Visits, visitors and pages viewed for the last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months, with the change on the period before.
  • A chart of visits each day.
  • Top pages and Where visitors came from (for example Google, a social network, or typed or bookmarked). Each list shows the top five; press Show more for up to ten.

How it's counted

We count visits from our own web server's records once a day, so figures run up to yesterday. A visit is a run of pages viewed by the same visitor without a long break.

  • Search engines, bots, uptime checkers and our own checks are left out.
  • Scripts that fetch pages without loading the page itself, such as floods on a form, are not counted.
  • Visitors is an estimate of different people: someone who visits on two devices counts twice.

Privacy

Nothing is added to your website: no tracking code and no cookies, so Website stats doesn't need a cookie banner. Visitors are told apart only while we count each day; we keep daily totals, page addresses and the websites visitors came from, never anything that identifies a person. Mention in your own privacy notice that your hosting provider counts visits to your website.

Getting it

Website stats is an add-on. Find it in Marketplace, or ask us. It works for websites we host.
